TRONA PINNACLES

The Trona Pinnacles National Natural Landmark is an amazing sight.

The "tufa" rock formations that are seen here make this spot look like an out "of this world" landscape.

This is why it has been used as a scene for many science fictions movies and TV series.

It's located on BLM land near the small town of Trona in the California Desert. The nearest city is Ridgecrest. You have to travel the last 7 miles on a bumpy dirt road.

Summer is a bad time to visit - unless you like it EXTRA EXTRA HOT!

There is NOTHING out here but rocks. You are on your own!!
