Technology becomes an important part of our lives, it makes our lives easier by helping us accomplish tasks in our daily lives.
"Accessibility for the blind" The idea of 6 students of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in building a portable device that can translate text to Braille.
This device features a scanning mechanism. It uses an internal camera to see the printed text and sends it to the microcontroller that uses a text recognition software which analyzes the exact words and translates it to Braille. On the other side of the device, it has electromagnetic mechanism that pushes the set of 216 dots up and down to display the scanned text as Braille dots.
This new device makes it convenient for blind citizens to read books, magazines and newspapers without waiting for it to be published and translated in braille.
