Please join Environmental Forum of Marin for an exciting evening about the landscape of philanthropy aimed directly at funding climate restoration. Restoring our climate will require dramatically reducing emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) as well as capturing and storing carbon dioxide.
The funding needed for this work will come largely from all of us through governments worldwide, but individual private money aimed at the problem is growing rapidly.
Where, and how much, are large donors giving to solving the climate crisis and restoring the climate? What can private citizens do? Carbon offsets are an effective way not only to offset your own emissions, but those of others, to drive near term GHG reduction. Participants will learn about large scale private funding and the world of carbon offsets - two different approaches to giving money to help restore the climate.
